Mike Muller has been working at Pondera since November 2016 as a renewable energy consultant . With his multidisciplinary background, he can contribute to all sorts of different projects. Mike, however, has been mostly involved in large scale offshore projects. This includes the EIA for Hollandse Kust (noord), the EIA for the grid connection to Hollandse Kust (noord and west Alpha), and the exploration of possible grid connection strategies for offshore wind farms.
Mike has contributed to these projects by performing GIS-analyses and producing maps. He is also involved in drawing up the EIA reports and the permits required for the offshore parks. Mike has also done several feasibility studies for onshore wind farms.
Education, training and previous employers
Mike started with his bachelor’s study Natural Science & Innovation Management at Utrecht University. During this study, his interest in sustainability and new (technological) development was triggered. He consequently decided to follow the master Energy Science. During this multidisciplinary study, Mike learned a lot about the energy sector, with courses ranging from Energy Economics to Thermodynamics and Energy Conversion methods. During his Master’s, he worked as an intern at the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency where he wrote his thesis on the potential of blue energy. In addition, he did several months of internship at the Heineken brewery Zoeterwoude and he participated in the Climate-KIC summerschool program.
