Pondera has been in existence for over 14 years, and in that time it has grown into a flourishing business employing around 70 people in the Netherlands and abroad. The energy transition is associated with many different complex issues. In order to be able to continue to respond to future developments, we have decided to reconfigure the organisation. The current director and vice director of Pondera Consult, Hans Rijntalder and Eric Arends, are stepping down from the executive board. They will make way for Sergej van de Bilt and Paul Janssen, two experienced consultants who have been working for Pondera almost from the start.

Sergej van de Bilt will take over the role of director. Sergej: “I’m really looking forward to growing Pondera Consult further in my new role. I will also continue to work on projects myself as much as possible. We are proud that we have already achieved a lot at Pondera. But there is still a lot of work to be done to complete the energy transition. Naturally we want to continue to play a significant role in that.”

Paul Janssen started his career with Pondera and has been responsible for one of the teams at Pondera for the past two and a half years. Paul will operate as the deputy director. Paul: “At Pondera, we help our customers deliver sustainable energy projects in order to tackle climate change. I’m really happy to be able to contribute to that. In my new role, I will be able to prepare Pondera even better for the future.” Paul will remain active as team leader and will be supported by Martijn Edink, who will take on joint responsibility for the Environment and Consenting team.

Appropriately, given Pondera’s business philosophy of operating from the heart of the company, Eric Arends and Hans Rijntalder will stay on as consultants. They will also be involved in developing the Pondera group, including offshore consultancy and consultancy abroad.
