On Thursday 16 September 2021, Pondera joined the online Trade Mission and was introduced to several interesting Vietnamese organisations.

Pondera recognizes Vietnam as a strong potential growth market for renewable energy. Since 2017, our organisation is making efforts in becoming an important player in the Vietnamese energy market.

The Trade Mission took place online, as traveling is still difficult due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It was organised by the Dutch Business Association Vietnam (DBAV) in cooperation with the Dutch Embassy in Hanoi, the International Startup Centre Hai Phong (ISC) and PUM Netherlands. The north of Vietnam was the main focus area, centred around the city of Hải Phòng which contains one of the country’s largest harbours.

Presentations of the Director of the Vietnamese Department of Science and Technology, the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Vietnam, the President of MKB Netherlands, the Country Coordinator of PUM Vietnam and the Executive Director of the DBAV were followed by a business matchmaking event.

The Netherlands is Vietnam’s second biggest trade partner in the European Union and both countries sustain strong relationships in various vital sectors such as water, agrifood, logistics and (renewable) energy. When it comes to the latter, we proudly consider ourselves to be one of the Dutch frontrunners.

We look back on a successful event and packed with new relations we continue our mission to support Vietnam in adopting renewable energy.
