Pondera Consult was founded in 2007. Last year we celebrated our 15th anniversary and we are proud of that! As a relatively young company, founded on a wealth of experience, we contribute with our clients to sustainable solutions to energy, climate and environmental issues. This includes large and small projects in the fields of solar energy and onshore and offshore wind energy, hydrogen and energy storage. Offshore wind energy is going to make the difference in the energy transition worldwide and in Europe and the Netherlands in particular. We are involved in an increasing number of offshore wind energy projects worldwide as a consultant, as a partner of large energy companies and as an investor in our own projects.
We are growing!
We are looking for people to grow with us and help realise Pondera’s ambitions in wind energy projects. This particularly involves the phases following the initial developments of the lots on which wind farms may be built. For example, you work on designing or contracting the electrical installations and cabling, or you are involved in coordinating the contractors and/or turbine supplier during the realisation phase. Besides collaborating in the client’s project team, you will work closely internally with highly experienced offshore professionals from Pondera. On our projects, you will be part of the Contracting, Construction and Operation team. On a day-to-day basis, you will not be on your own and will collaborate a lot with colleagues from team Environment and Space, for example in the area of permits and the Technical Team where data analysis and modelling takes place.
Who are we looking for?
For this role, we are looking for an experienced professional. A true consultant at heart, who has already managed to bring many complex and challenging projects to a successful conclusion. Therefore we expect that you to have been working in the consultancy sector for 10+ years and to have experience with project-based work and managing a (medium-sized) project team. Preferably you have experience in the field of energy transition, but that is not essential. Above all, we are looking for a hands-on experienced consultant who has good communication skills and uses his knowledge and experience to really help clients with their sustainability issues. You may of course have gained these skills in different branches of the consultancy profession, for example:
- Environmental impact assessment (EIA) specialist;
- Process or project leader (in government or business) for large, long-term and complex issues;
- Project developer in the environmental or energy domain.
What does this position entail?
Your responsibilities within Pondera involve leading large, complex renewable energy or energy infrastructure projects. In doing so, you will work in multidisciplinary project teams, composed of both internal colleagues and external specialists, and have final responsibility for a project. Examples of projects you could work on are the MER for the Energy Main Structure programme (what will the Netherlands’ energy infrastructure look like in 2050?), supervising the authorisation procedures and participation processes for the high-voltage connections for offshore wind energy or helping to realise the Netherlands’ largest onshore wind and solar energy projects. In doing so, you are the client’s point of contact, make acquisitions, write offers, manage a large project team (10-15 people) and coordinate with external specialists. Projects mainly take place in the Netherlands, but sometimes also abroad.
If you like it, you can also actively participate in the development of the team working on offshore energy issues. Within the team Environment and Spatial Planning, we work with about 20 people jointly, but also independently, on the implementation of sustainable energy projects.
Knowledge and skills required
We would like to meet someone who:
- is particularly enthusiastic about what is described above;
- has completed an academic education; this could be a technical, economic, legal or administrative study;
- has experience in the realisation of (energy, spatial or infrastructure) projects as a senior project leader;
- feels comfortable in the role of advisor and knows what this means;
- has the right attitude: someone who chases things themselves, likes to learn, thinks outside the box, is enthusiastic and entrepreneurial and feels a strong sense of responsibility for the work being done and for the team with which you do it;
- would like to develop further in the field of energy transition and is ready for a new step in their career;
- has good communication skills in Dutch and English.
