to drive the energy transition forward

Pondera

Pondera Consult was founded in 2007. As a relatively young company, founded on a wealth of experience, we contribute with our clients to sustainable solutions to energy, climate and environmental issues. This includes large and small projects in the fields of solar energy and onshore and offshore wind energy, hydrogen and battery energy storage. Offshore wind energy is going to be the key factor in the energy transition worldwide and in Europe and the Netherlands in particular. We are involved in an increasing number of offshore wind energy projects worldwide as a consultant, as a partner of large energy companies and as an investor in our own projects.

We are growing!

We are looking for people to grow with us and help realise Pondera’s ambitions in wind energy projects. This particularly relates to the phases following the initial developments of the lots on which wind farms may be built. For example, you work with the contractors on the plan regarding the logistics and installation of a wind farm, or you are involved in coordinating the contractors and/or turbine supplier during project implementation. Besides working together in the client’s project team, you will work closely internally with highly experienced offshore professionals from Pondera.

On our projects, you will be part of the Contracting, Construction and Operations team. On a day-to-day basis, you will not stand alone and will cooperate a lot with colleagues from team Environment and Consenting, for example in the field of permits and the Technical Team where data analysis and modelling takes place.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has the courage to take the lead in a complex environment. You derive satisfaction from thinking in terms of solutions and going the extra mile together with skilled and enthusiastic colleagues in order to ultimately deliver a project.

Experience is required for this role. We would expect you to have around 3-5 years of relevant experience.

What does this job involve?

As a transport and installation engineer, you are responsible for the logistical processes associated with the construction of an (offshore) wind farm. Transporting and installing parts of a wind farm is a complex process in which time and safety play a crucial role.

With your knowledge of land and sea logistics and the ships, cranes and other mechanical installations that are required, you will contribute to the timely and safe execution of the work. Your duties and responsibilities include:

  • working with contractors and suppliers to develop execution methods for (offshore) wind energy projects;
  • reviewing selected vessels and equipment;
  • reviewing detailed design for pre-assembly, logistics plans, load-out and lifting plans;
  • reviewing and organising review of internal and external deliverables – (drawings, reports and procedures);
  • preparing the scope of work and assisting in its contracting to contractors;
  • monitoring and supervising logistical processes during the execution of projects.

Knowledge and skills required

We would like to meet someone who:

  • is particularly enthusiastic about what is described above;
  • has completed a relevant academic education;
  • has experience in the realisation of relevant projects
  • has the right attitude: someone who pursues issues themselves, dares to ask questions, likes to learn, thinks outside the box, is enthusiastic and entrepreneurial and feels a strong sense of responsibility for the work being done;
  • would like to develop further in the field of energy transition;
  • has good communication skills in Dutch and English.

What do we offer?

In addition to working at our 16 years young company, where there is every freedom to develop and where pleasure in work is truly important, we offer:

  • a good salary and fringe benefits, such as laptop, telephone, excellent pension scheme and a good travel/home office allowance;
  • working with a young, knowledgeable and driven team of professionals, who together also engage in activities outside work, such as drinks, dinners and the annual winter (sports) holiday;
  • ample development opportunities in a growing organisation and market;
  • a multitude and variety of sustainable energy projects we are proud to work on;
  • a modern architect-designed office right next to Arnhem Central Station; hybrid working was something we did long before corona and is nothing new to us;
  • a lease car or lease bike in accordance with Pondera’s mobility scheme.
