Vivien Liando has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, public relations and general management in the property and renewable energy fields. After starting in the property and golf industries, Vivien gained an extensive business network at national and international level through her years of experience. Her exposure to the property industry gave her an insight into the high cost and demand of electricity in Indonesia which lead to Vivien’s interest in the search of alternative forms of energy to support the basic electricity needs of small island communities. Vivien has been involved in projects related to LED street lighting, solar PV farms, hybrid power systems and small scale wind turbines. In these projects she has been responsible for location visits, procurement, construction, after sales services and relationship management. Within Hywind Energy Solutions (HES) Vivien works on environmental and stakeholder management, permitting and maintaining relations with local and national authorities. She is further responsible for on-site surveys and local community relations for the successful implementation and operation of HES’s renewable energy projects.

Vivien Liando graduated from the Amsterdam Management Institute in 1981 with a degree in business administration. In 1990, she completed her marketing and general management programme at the Management Institute in Jakarta. Her career began as a member of the Jababeka Property Group as marketing manager for the golf and property market in Jakarta. This was followed by a promotion to the role of assistant general manager. She then was employed as assistant general manager of Kemayoran Golf and Property and shortly their after became general manager and later acting Director of the company. Vivien is the acting marketing director of PT. Zeus Prima Garda company since 2006. The company specializes in lightning and surge protection systems for the oil and gas industry among others. In her role she maintains strong relations with a wide variety of industries and sectors. Vivien helps clients find properties for their renewable energy projects, specifically in the field of solar PV and hybrid power systems, small scale wind turbine projects and LED lighting solutions. In 2008, she completed training courses in renewable energy at Elecon Wind Turbines in Vadodara, India. This was followed by training at the LED Green Energy Business Match Forum in Taiwan in 2013. Vivien also participated in training courses at the Indonesian Wind Energy Forum in 2015 organized by WHyPGen project of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Vivien joined Hywind Energy Solutions (HES) in 2015 as director and shareholder. The company aims to increase its wind power, solar PV and hybrid power development projects in Indonesia. From 1994 to 2012, Vivien was active in the Netherlands Alumni Association of Indonesia (IKANED) and was responsible for organizing several events and activities in the association. In 2016, Vivien joined the Indonesia Wind Energy Association IWEA (Assosiasi Energi Angin Indonesia AEAI) as a public relations manager.
