As Wind Resource & Lidar Specialist, Wouter Pustjens is involved in the planning phase of wind energy development; he has a particular focus on wind resource assessments, lay-out optimizations and wind measurement campaigns. Wouter aims to provide a realistic and accurate description of the local wind resource and the corresponding energy yield. He is very experienced in the analysis of measurement and model data. He provides fundamental insights to energy cooperatives, companies and governments, which help them apply for subsidies and project funding. Wouter has extensive experience with layout optimizations and LCoE analyses of designated wind areas in the Dutch and Belgian North Sea. Wouter also creates photographic visualisations and is one of Pondera’s GIS specialists. Moreover, he has worked on feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments and permit applications. Wouter thinks in terms of solutions and is highly driven to contribute to a more sustainable society, both personally and professionally.
Education, training and previous employers
After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Technical Innovation Sciences in Eindhoven, Wouter earned a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Futures from the Imperial College London in 2013. He began his career by ARCADIS, working as an energy and sustainability adviser. Wouter has been working at Pondera since 2015.
