Edo van Baars started at Pondera in October 2023 as a renewable energy consultant in the team Environment & Consenting. He has a wide range of skills in the field of permits, spatial integration and participation. Edo will concentrate on projects in the field of wind energy, solar PV and battery storage.
As a generalist, Edo oversees the field of the energy transition. He is able to links the different aspects of the transition – the renewable, political-administrative, social and spatial – together.
Edo is very passionate about making the most impactful contribution to the energy transition, and sustainability in general, with an eye for the Dutch and international context. With his curious and positive attitude, he quickly internalises new projects.
Education and former employers
Between 2011 and 2017, Edo followed the bachelor study in Public Administration and Organizational Sciences and the master study in Urban Geography at Utrecht University. Subsequently, he fully concentrated on the theme of sustainability, in the field of climate adaptation and circularity in a number of voluntary organizations.
In recent years, Edo has been involved in the BAR organization, a municipal partnership, in saving energy and making the built-up environment more sustainable. He was active in the field of energy advice, financial instruments and awareness among residents and entrepreneurs.
