In February 2024, Gert van der Weijden joined the Contracting, Construction and Operational Management team as Contract Manager. Gert is a driven professional with a structured and pragmatic approach towards projects. Gert is not unknown in the world of renewable energy. He has extensive experience in the wind energy sector with asset management, contracting and wind turbine engineering. At Pondera, Gert focuses on contract management.
Education and employers
Gert studied Financial Services Management at the Hogeschool Inholland. After having worked at companies in or related to the real estate sector, he started working in the wind energy sector at Windbrokers in 2014. Afterwards, he worked for wind turbine manufacturer Lagerwey as a commercial/technical sales engineer. In this function, he had an active role between customers, sales and engineering. Due to the acquisition of Lagerwey by Enercon, he then continued this position within Enercon. Within Enercon, Gert was co-responsible for financial asset management of prototype projects and coordination in the testing of prototype wind turbines.
Gert’s involvement in the transition from tenders to the realization phase of projects gives him an insight into the requirements of contract documentation. His financial background and analytical ability enable him to evaluate the feasibility of projects. Thus, his position at Pondera is a perfect fit for him.
