Enriko Weijers joined Pondera as Finance Manager in August 2022 in order to strengthen the administration team. Together with other colleagues in the department, he optimises administration and management data to meet the growing demand from the organisation. This involves a strong emphasis on further automation of (manual) processes and improving efficiency where necessary and possible. This allows us to respond more effectively to new developments and opportunities in the market. Enriko is energised by creating structure and when issues arise to come up with solutions.
Education and previous employers
After his SPD studies, Enriko started in accountancy at Deloitte & Touche in Winterswijk, where he was able to gain a lot of experience from various companies with very different types of operations. In addition, he studied to become an AA accountant and was able to immediately apply the acquired knowledge in his daily work. After more than six years, he transferred to Sel Chemie and Ducona in Aalten, production companies that are part of a rapidly growing family business. It was there that he started as Financial Controller and later progressed to Manager Finance & Control. Besides finance, Enriko has also dealt with HR, insurance, environmental permits, construction and investment projects, organisational restructuring and (renewable) energy projects. He has obtained knowledge of solar panel construction and operation, energy procurement and current challenges on the national electricity grid.
After working at Sel Chemie & Ducona for over 20 years, Enriko decided it was time for a new challenge which he found at Pondera. Now, instead of a long commute every day by car, he comes to the office by bike – much more sustainable!
