In this second part of our vlog series, Pondera’s reporter Joost visits the Eemshaven estuary. Project manager Jorden shows us around the site where Windpark Strekdammen is being constructed.

On this particular day, the 30 meter long piles will be delivered. The pile drivers will then drive them into the ground to form a solid foundation for the two wind turbines that are to be built. These turbines will soon be able to provide around 15,000 households with power.

The original idea was to build the wind turbines from the fairway. However, the dredging required during construction, maintenance and repair work would have had many disadvantages. As a result, Pondera and Rebel opted for the more favourable land-based approach.
