At the end of June 2021, the cooperative Wij Duurzaam Staphorst signed the supply contract for three Enercon E-138 EP3 E3 wind turbines for wind farm Bovenwind – the first wind turbines of this type to be built worldwide. Pondera supervised the tendering process on behalf of the cooperative and successfully completed the contract negotiations with Enercon.
In 2019, on behalf of cooperative Wij Duurzaam Staphorst, Pondera applied for a construction permit for the realisation of wind farm Bovenwind. This permit became irrevocable in May 2021 following a Council of State procedure. The wind farm will contribute more than 12 MW to the province of Overijssel’s onshore wind energy targets for 2021. Obtaining the permit was the motive for starting the tendering process for the supply of three wind turbines. Pondera was commissioned by the cooperative to conduct a procedure to select the most suitable wind turbine supplier. Suppliers were assessed on price and project revenue, but also on their ability to cooperate with the initiator, keeping in line with the cooperative approach of Wij Duurzaam Staphorst. This led to the selection of Enercon as preferred supplier. Contract negotiations were then held with this supplier in order to reach a contract that satisfied both parties. Wij Duurzaam Staphorst, Enercon and Pondera look back on the process with satisfaction and the intermediate result, and look forward to the implementation of the wind farm.
Pondera will continue to be involved in the next phase of the project by contracting the electrical works, providing support during construction and contract management. In doing so we are continuing our collaboration with Wij Duurzaam Staphorst, which has been successful since 2018.
