Wind farm Synergie (expansion of Nieuwleusen Wind farm)

For the Synergie Wind Farm, near the Tolhuislanden and Nieuwleusen-West wind farms, Pondera provided the EIA and the zoning plan and conducted research into acoustics, shadow flicker effects, external safety, visualisations and yield calculations. A special feature of the process for the wind farm was that the EIA was emphatically used to arrive at a well-founded choice for the preferred alternative, together with initiators and the surrounding area. The EIA Commission commented in its review advice: In the Committee’s opinion, the possibilities offered by the EIA instruments have been put to good use. Because the EIA process has more or less coincided with the design and participation process, the design and participation process has been able to take advantage of the knowledge generated by the EIA drafters. But vice versa, the design and participation process has also provided input for the EIA writers. In the Committee’s opinion, such joint fact finding has increased the quality of plan / project development. In a follow-up project, Pondera also assisted with contracting and financial close.
