The Province of Overijssel aims to realise around 90 additional wind turbines by 2030. Together, these wind turbines should generate around 1800 GWh of green electricity annually, which will contribute significantly to achieving the climate goals. Pondera can support the projects in different phases to help realise this ambition. 

The target for additional wind energy generation in the two Regional Energy Strategy (RES) regions in Overijssel has been harder to achieve in recent years. For this reason, Overijssel has now decided to approach it on a provincial level, in consultation with the municipalities involved. This means the province will indicate projects to be considered for permit applications. On 9 October 2024, the policy regarding these projects was approved by Provincial Councils.  

A designated search area within which a wind project can be realised has been defined for each municipality. In the coming year, initiators can submit their project proposals to the Province of Overijssel. After approval of the proposals, they can then start the permit application, which will bring the realisation of the additional wind turbines a step closer.
