Pondera in Indonesia 

Pondera is active as renewable energy consultant in Indonesia since 2016. In the past years we have become a renowned company in Indonesia’s energy transition working for Indonesian and international clients, with a continuous growing team of consultants. Our track record comprises of feasibility studies for (floating) solar PV, onshore- and offshore wind, policy and regulatory analyses, energy transition roadmap development and government stakeholder engagement. 

Your role

To continue strengthening our ability to support Indonesia in the energy transition, our team in Jakarta is currently looking for a highly motivated candidate to become our new fulltime Renewable Energy Consultant at medior level.   

What does the role entail?                                                                                                     

• Contribute to our current and future energy transition projects in Indonesia, with a focus on variable renewable energy (onshore and offshore wind, and floating solar PV) and energy distribution, storage and conversion.
• Execute consultancy studies on renewable energy for our clients. This is exemplified by the development of a roadmap for Indonesia’s onshore wind sector, and techno-economic assessments on potential renewable energy projects. 
• Support the organization of renewable energy sector events. 
• Prepare, manage, and conduct (feasibility) studies together with our in-house technical experts and perform activities in all required stages of project development, namely project initiation, planning and development, contracting and financing, construction and operation, and decommissioning.
• Form and maintain close relationships with Indonesian companies, local communities, and the Indonesian regional and national authorities to establish a valuable network. 
• Visit project sites for scouting purposes as well as progress checks.
• Support efforts in business development of Pondera’s consultancy services in Indonesia.

Overall, you will fulfil your role in a highly dynamic and pioneering environment where you will work on projects that will contribute to Indonesia’s energy transition. For each project you will be working on, you get a project leader assigned to whom you will report and who will support you in your work. The day-to-day job location is at Arkadia Green Park in Jakarta. Travelling for projects within- and outside of Jakarta is required on a regular basis. 

We are looking for a professional who

• has at least a Bachelor’s degree in one or multiple fields relevant to the energy transition; 
• a substantiated motivation for working in the energy transition, exemplified by career path choices, study / training courses followed and personal drivers;  
• has 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Consultancy work experience is preferred;
• express a strong motivation for working in renewable energy;
• has a preference to work on complex issues and has a problem-solving mindset;
• has strong research/analysis experience and abilities;
• has strong attention to detail, project schedule, and organizational skills;
• has a high level of proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia in speaking, writing, and reading;
• has excellent communication skills, including in giving presentation to external audiences;
• demonstrated experience in building collaborative relationships with public and private stakeholders to achieve project goals;
• has networking skills and is able to build long-term relationships;
• is a self-starter who takes initiative; 
• is interested in and has affinity with multi-cultural collaboration; and
• is willing to travel occasionally.
