From June 23 until August 4, 2023, the integration plan, the final permits and exemptions and the Environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the Offshore grid IJmuiden Ver Gamma project were available for inspection. No appeals have been filed, which means the decisions are irrevocable. A great milestone for this project. Pondera, in combination with Arcadis, drew up the EIA and the permit applications.

The Offshore grid IJmuiden Ver Gamma project consists of an offshore platform to which the windturbines from the IJmuiden Ver wind energy area are connected, an underground cable connection at sea and on land, and a converter station from which the connection is connected to TenneT's national electricity grid. The connection of the offshore grid IJmuiden Ver Gamma runs from the northern part of IJmuiden Ver to the Maasvlakte. There are two more 2 GW-connections from the IJmuiden Ver wind energy area: Offshore grid IJmuiden Ver Alpha (to the Sloe area near Borssele) and Offshore grid IJmuiden Ver Beta (also to the Maasvlakte).

Arcadis and Pondera have also drawn up the EIA and permit applications for the IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Beta offshore grid. The main permits and integration plans for these projects are also irrevocable. Construction work for these projects has now started.

Arcadis and Pondera are also currently working on the grid connection of the next wind energy area in the North Sea: Nederwiek. The IJmuiden Ver and Nederwiek wind energy areas together account for 12 GW of offshore wind energy. In this way we make a substantial contribution to the Dutch government's objective of achieving approximately 21 GW of offshore wind by 2030.
