Gertjan Jobse is an experienced consultant and project manager with more than 18 years of experience in spatial planning. In his work, he contributes to the realisation of sustainable energy generation, infrastructure, and climate adaptation.

Gertjan has an extensive knowledge and understanding of regional planning and landscape design. His approach is characterised by a strong focus on the integrality of projects. With his background as a landscape architect, he takes an area-oriented approach, combining different perspectives and interests. His strength is comprehending problems, distinguishing main and secondary aspects, and generating solutions through design and collaboration. His analytical skills help understand the problems and draw connections to advance planning processes.

Gertjan is committed to sustainable solutions that both remedy the energy and climate crisis and increase biodiversity. For him, collaborating with other professionals and stakeholders is key to achieving comprehensive solutions.

Since 2020, Gertjan has been living and working in Finland. In August 2023, Gertjan joined Pondera as a Renewable Energy Consultant. He concentrates on business development for consultancy services in the Baltic region, with a special focus on Finland.

Education and previous employers

Gertjan graduated as a Landscape Architect from Wageningen University in 2004. He worked for a total of 15 years at engineering and consultancy firms Arcadis in the Netherlands and Ramboll in Finland, where he contributed to many onshore and offshore wind energy projects. Gertjan has specific expertise in preparing landscape assessments in environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and has advised as an expert for the EIA committee for years.
